Backpacking Volunteer Weekend at Thomas Lakes

Name: Backpacking Volunteer Weekend at Thomas Lakes
Date: August 17, 2018 - August 19, 2018
Event Description:
It's time to go backpacking with RFOV! Let us take care of the logistics, and food supplies -- you just need to bring your personal gear. Take in the beautiful sights of Mt Sopris while volunteering on this well-used trail. You're sure to meet some stellar folks while volunteering for this weekend-long project. Backpacking is optional! You can show up to volunteer just for the day, enjoy dinner, and then head home. If you're camping with us, you can show up any time after 4pm on Friday and just enjoy a nice hike into camp that evening. We'll start trail work at 8:30am on Saturday and Sunday, and then dinner will be provided around 4pm. But, this is also a great way to go camping without having to worry about the planning. We're proud to partner up with the U.S. Forest Service - White River National Forest, Roaring Fork Valley Horse Council and Wilderness Workshop to help reconstruct and repair damaged sections of Thomas Lakes Trail. Thank you to Capitol Peak Outfitters, Inc., who is graciously donating the horse-packing expenses for the project! This is an immense help with kitchen setup and transporting supplies. Please sign up at rfov.org or https://rfov.salsalabs.org/hay_park_thomas_lakes_project_signup/index.html so we can get an accurate head count of volunteers, and so we can provide you with exact details for the project.
