Name: Music at the Library: "Harmonized Strings"
Date: March 16, 2018
Time: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
The fine musicianship and versatility of the internationally renowned Altius String Quartet will again enrapture the hearts of their audience in concert Friday, March 16, 2018 at 5:30 PM, Basalt Library Community Room. The quartet members have studied with many distinguished teachers, held residency with the Takács String Quartet, won prizes in many international competitions, and released CDs on recognized labels. They are committed to outreach in public schools directed toward building future musicians and concert goers. Our valley students have benefited from their residencies made possible by the Aspen Music Festival and School. In November 2017, they performed three concerts at the University of the Academy of Sciences in Beijing to audiences comprised mainly of young people. The quartet is on their way back to China for an 8 concert/11 day tour in July, 2018. Their concerts will be directed to audiences that have had little opportunity to hear classical music. Join us at the library for an hour of string quartet music performed by these talented musicians.
