Name: Plein Air Colored Pencil Workshop
Date: July 20, 2019
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
Join Colorado wildlife artist Nicolette for plein air sketching in the wetlands park right behind the library. Our back yard and its boardwalk contain gorgeous views, birds and stunning wildflowers. In this free workshop, you will find a subject that lifts your spirits and then capture it in an artwork to keep as a reminder, long after the summer has faded away. Colored pencils and paper will be provided to use for this class, though you are welcome to bring your own materials or sketchbook if you wish. Bring your own lunch, water for drinking, and a foldable seat or blanket to sit on. It's also helpful to bring a cellphone or camera to photograph your subject. The day will include a morning stroll, during which Nicolette will help you pick a subject, provide instruction on sizing and sketching the subject, and offer technique tips for those new to colored pencil. Class will meet in the Community Room. In the event of rain, a still life drawing class will be offered indoors. Space is limited and registration is required. Email Hannah Condon at hcondon@basaltlibrary.org, call 970-927-4311 ext 1003, or register at the front desk. To see Nicolette's artwork and learn more about her, visit NicoletteArts.com.
