Name: SOLE Lab: Practicing the Art of Learning (Adults & Teens 16+)
Date: April 24, 2019
Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
On a personal level, SOLE Lab inspires curiosity and re-ignites the child-like drive to learn new things. On a practical level it hones and improves research, critical analysis, deductive reasoning, writing, collaboration, and presentation skills. On both levels it encourages the practice of life-long, self-organized learning. How SOLE Lab works: The SOLE Lab is designed to inspire curiosity through the exploration of interesting questions; questions you may never have stopped to think about before. Participants enjoy a stress free learning environment, where it's not the answer that matters but the process they've employed to research, formulate, and present their findings that does. Participants are challenged to work from question to response, working collaboratively in small groups, in a 45 minute time frame. Groups then discuss their findings, and practice critiquing the quality of their own sources and references, and the effectiveness of their presentation styles. Each lab is limited to 12 participants -- advance registration is strongly encouraged. Open to adults and teens 16+. Labs are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
