Join us in celebrating the life and art of Alma Woodsey Thomas in honor of Black History Month with a fun art project for kids and teens. After devoting her career to art education, Alma Woodsey Thomas first exhibited her artwork at age 75. She became the first African American woman to have a solo exhibition at New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art, and exhibited her work in the White House three times. We’ll create artwork in Thomas’s signature style - playful, abstract paintings filled with color and mosaic-like patterns. All supplies provided.
