Starting Jan. 1, 2023, Colorado employers are required to withhold premiums to fund the state’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program (FAMLI). During this free webinar, the CO Dept. of Labor & Employment (CDLE) FAMLI Division will provide a high-level overview of the program and address actions employers can take now to prepare for compliance.

CO FAMLI Quick Overview
In November 2020, Colorado voters approved the FAMLI initiative, which provides all workers in the state with paid leave for extended medical care. Employers are responsible for collecting employee premiums to fund FAMLI benefits. Employees can
start accessing benefits in January 2024.
  • All Colorado employers must register with the FAMLI program (unless exempt)
  • Employers are responsible for collecting and remitting FAMLI contributions
  • Employers may apply for an exemption in November
