Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM MST
Event Description:
The 2016 film "Hidden Figures" celebrates a group of brilliant African-American women, Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson who were worked as 'human computers' in the space program at NASA in the 1950's and 1960's. Overcoming the discrimination and racial segregation of the era, the three women were instrumental in one of our greatest technological achievements: the launching of astronaut John Glenn into orbit around Earth. "Hidden Figures" is based on the bestselling book by Margot Lee Shetterly, whose father also worked as a research scientist at NASA-Langley Research Center. The film was nominated for 3 Academy Awards, including 'Best Picture.'
