Name: Date Night: Dinner and a Play
Date: August 12, 2022
Time: 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM MDT
Event Description:
Fateful Love is a new work by local actress and playwright Morgan Walsh. The play examines the relationship of Georgiana Hyde Lees and WB Yeats, and how their belief in the Occult saved their marriage and informed their life together. It also explores their friendship with Dorothy and Ezra Pound and the lives of women in the early/mid 20th Century. This Date Night will be held outside under the tent on the Patio as a dinner theater. Seating is limited and registration is required. The Cast Morgan Walsh has written several other plays including The Beats (about the beat poets) and is currently working on Gertrude's Tale (Hamlet told from Gertrude's viewpoint). She is a classically trained actress whose favorite roles include Hester Solomon in Equus at Thunder River Theater Company, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (a film), Mrs. Grose in Turn of the Screw and Clarence in It’s a Wonderful Life with the Hudson Reed Ensemble. Morgan is also a fiber artist, metalsmith and ‘finder of lost objects’. Kent Reed is the founder of Theatre Aspen and the Hudson Reed Ensemble, originators of the Roaring Fork Valley's Shakespeare in the Park. He has performed and directed in the Roaring Fork Valley for twenty five years. He is a member of Actors Equity, SAG, and AFTRA acting unions. Kent has recently turned his focus to video production. He is grateful to be part of this lovely play. Lee Sullivan is a Roaring Fork resident nigh 30 years abiding in the pristine Elk Creek area of Old Snowmass as his adopted home, loving on land and animals resources and Handy Man creativity which for him is daily inspiring and of monumental orchestration. Branched from that is the performing arts world where singing, musicianship, acting, voice and (as able) dance have afforded the whole gambit of Lee's living poetry. Live Sound tech, motorcycling and keeping up with old friends and family are important. Thank you, Morgan Walsh for creating this. Emily Henley is excited to be working on another project that highlights the strength and endurance of female characters.
