Eight years ago, local photographer Erik Wardell got a taste of India during a trip to Southern Asia. Fascinated by its people, cultures, mysticism and contrast, he began dreaming of an adventure that would immerse him in the sub-continent. With little more than a handful of intentions and a camera, his dream became a reality as he set out to experience India with no specific itinerary or expectation. The journey that ensued over the following six months led him deep into the Indian Himalaya and across the country by train in search of creative challenges, volunteer opportunities, and spiritual awakening.
