Name: Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers' Capitol Lake Trail Project
Date: August 18, 2017 - August 20, 2017
Website: http://rfov.org
Event Description:
Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers' highly anticipated overnight project is almost here! Join us for a weekend as we reconstruct, repair, and restore damaged sections of the Capitol Lake Trail about 2 miles in from the trailhead. You can show up any time after 3 pm to the campsite on Friday afternoon, and we'll be working on the trail Saturday from 8am-4pm and Sunday from 8am-3pm. All meals will be provided! Capitol Peak Outfitters, Inc. and Roaring Fork Valley Horse Council have generously offered to carry in cooking supplies and food to the campsite, so you only have to worry about your personal gear for the night. This is the perfect opportunity to simultaneously earn a free camping trip, meet like-minded trail lovers, and give back to our public lands. All volunteers need to sign up at rfov.org beforehand so we can send you detailed directions on parking, expectations, and so we can get an estimate on food and tools needed. Overnight camping for the whole weekend is not mandatory -- you can join us for Saturday and/or Sunday.
