Event Description:

We are proud to welcome Aspen-based pianist Mandy Gessler back to our "Music at the Library" concert series, this time with collaborator Francisco Villa on cello. The duo will perform music by J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Czech composer Leoš Janácek. As always, concerts are free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served before the concert. 


Tenemos el orgullo de presentar nuevamente a Mandi Gessler, una pianista establecida en Aspen y quien regresa a nuestra serie de conciertos "Music at the Library", esta vez en colaboración con el chelista Francisco Villa. El dúo interpretará música de J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven y el compositor checo Leoš Janácek. Como siempre, los conciertos son gratuitos y están abiertos al público en general. Serviremos bebidas refrescantes antes del concierto. 

About the Artists:
Amanda Gessler is known for her deeply insightful and emotionally charged performances across the United States and Europe. As a First Prize Winner of the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano competition, she made her Carnegie Hall debut in May, 2014.  She embraces a broad repertoire and enjoys a special connection with the music of Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. 

Amanda Gessler es conocida por sus interpretaciones profundamente minuciosas y emotivas a lo largo de los Estados Unidos y Europa. Como ganadora del primer lugar en el certamen Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, hizo su debut en Carnegie Hall en mayo de 2014. Amanda cuenta con un amplio repertorio y disfruta de un vínculo especial con la música de Mozart, Beethoven y Schubert.

Ibero-Ecuadorian cellist Francisco Vila began playing the cello at age 8 and made his orchestral debut at age 14. He has performed throughout Europe, North America and South America. Vila has been described as “…an exceptionally talented young cellist and musician. He is headed for an important place in the music world.” (Janos Starker, cellist).
El chelista ibero-ecuatoriano Francisco Villa comenzó a tocar el chelo a los 8 años e hizo su debut orquestral a los 14. Ha hecho presentaciones a lo largo de Europa, Norteamérica y Sudamérica. Villa ha sido descrito como “…un chelista y músico excepcionalmente talentoso, destinado a ocupar un lugar importante en el mundo de la música”. (Janos Starker, chelista).
