In preparation for Adventure Around the Fire: A Moth-Inspired Storytelling Night (on June 27), the library will host three workshops. The first workshop is an opportunity to learn more about The Moth, which is the inspiration for this program, and to brainstorm what story you might like to tell. During the second workshop (June 11), you will work on writing your story and have an opportunity for editing assistance. The third workshop is on June 18 and will be a dress rehearsal for the event. You are encouraged to attend all three workshops but if you are not able to make it to all of them and would like to tell a story, please contact Elizabeth de Wetter, Adult Programming Coordinator, for more details.

The workshops on June 11 and 18 will be led by Kristin (K.D.) Carlson, an award-winning playwright whose work has been developed and produced at the Chicago Snapshot Festival, the National AACT Festival, and the Playwrights Showcase of the Western Region. Her poetry, fiction, and essays have appeared in publications that include Asheville Poetry Review, Shark Reef Literary Journal, and Writer’s Digest Magazine. She holds an MA in Performance Studies from The University of North Carolina and performs locally with Consensual Improv.
