Calling all romance lovers! Come join a brand new book club at Basalt Regional Library solely for high schoolers who love to read romance novels. At Swoon Society, you don't need to defend your love of reading about love to anyone. We'll read and discuss a wide range of romance novels voted on by the group each month, while enjoying snacks and beverages. This program is for Grades 9-12.

This month we are reading Time and Time Again by Chatham Greenfield. Phoebe Mendel's day is never ending—literally. On August 6th, she woke up to find herself stuck in a time loop. And for nearly a month of August 6ths since, Phoebe has relived the same day: pancakes with Mom in the morning, Scrabble with Dad in the afternoon, and constant research into how to reach tomorrow and make it to her appointment with a doctor who may actually take her IBS seriously. Everything is exactly, agonizingly the same. That is, until the most mundane car crash ever sends Phoebe's childhood crush Jess crashing into the time loop. Now also stuck, Jess convinces Phoebe to break out of her routine and take advantage of their consequence-free days to have fun. From splurging on concert tickets, to enacting (mostly) harmless revenge, to all-night road trips, Jess pulls Phoebe further and further out of her comfort zone—and deeper in love with them. But the more Phoebe falls for Jess, the more she worries about what's on the other side of the time loop.

En Swoon Society no necesitas justificar tu amor por la lectura romántica ante nadie. Leeremos y discutiremos una amplia variedad de novelas románticas elegidas por el grupo cada mes, mientras disfrutamos de refrigerios y bebidas. Este programa está destinado a chic@s cursando entre el 9º y el 12º grado.  El programa será facilitado en inglés.

Este mes leeremos “Time and Time Again” (Una y otra vez), de Chatham Greenfield. El día de Phoebe Mendel no termina nunca —literalmente. El 6 de agosto, Phoebe despertó para encontrarse atorada en un bucle de tiempo, y después de casi un mes de seises de agosto desde entonces, ella ha vivido el mismo día: pancakes con Mamá por la mañana, un juego de Scrabble con Papá en la tarde, y una búsqueda constante para poder llegar al día de mañana y así presentarse a su cita con un doctor que posiblemente tome sus síntomas de SII con seriedad. Todo es exactamente (y agonizantemente) igual. Esto es, hasta que el accidente automovilístico más mundano envía a Jess, el crush de la infancia de Phoebe, al mismo bucle temporal. Ahora, también atrapad@, Jess convence a Phoebe de salir de su rutina y tomar ventaja de estos días sin consecuencias para divertirse al máximo. Desde un despilfarro de dinero para comprar boletos para un concierto hasta la ejecución de inocentes (en su mayoría) actos de venganza y viajes en auto que duran toda la noche, Jess saca a Phoebe más y más de su zona de confort —mientras Phoebe se enamora más y más de Jess. Pero entre más enamorada se encuentra Phoebe, más se preocupa por lo que pueda encontrarse al otro lado del bucle temporal.
