Please join us for the first installment of this winter’s Naturalist Night series with “Terrible Beauty: Reckoning with Climate Complicity and Rediscovering our Soul” by Auden Schendler, the Senior Vice President of Sustainability at Aspen One. Auden will present in Carbondale on Wednesday night and Thursday night in Aspen. See below for details: Carbondale presentation Date and Time: Wednesday, January 8, 6-7pm Location: Community Hall at the Third Street Center (520 S Third St, Carbondale, CO 81623) About the presentation: There's a terrible beauty in this world. There are things we love beyond words—our children, our community, special places in the natural world—and yet all of those things are threatened by climate change. And yet our actions in response to that threat tend to be token: many of us don't even vote. After a divisive presidential election, and at the eleventh hour, how do we grapple with climate change, and use our humanity and aspirations as a way to propel us forward? About the speaker: Auden Schendler is SVP of Sustainability at Aspen One. He is the author of the book Getting Green Done, and new this year, Terrible Beauty, Reckoning with Climate Complicity and Rediscovering Our Soul. About our Naturalist Nights series: Each winter, Wilderness Workshop partners with the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies and the Roaring Fork Audubon to present our Naturalist Nights speaker series, bringing in experts to explore topics of the natural world with our community.
