About
Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES), is a non-profit environmental science education center with four sites in the Roaring Fork Valley. ACES provides programs in environmental science and ecological literacy for everyone from school children, to leaders and decision makers, working to build a community of knowledgeable, motivated and capable environmental stewards.
At ACES' Rock Bottom Ranch site we are guided by nature, balancing the wild and the agricultural, enriching lives and land. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the ranch during open hours. Farm tours, offered at 11AM, are an exciting and educational family outing. Rock Bottom Ranch also offers classes and camps for kids and adults, like our RBR Kitchen cooking demonstrations and Naturalist Field School summer camps. During the summer months our Farm to Table dinners highlight the beautiful setting and feature local foods from the ranch and nearby producers. Our annual Harvest Party is a must-attend community event each fall featuring activities for all ages.
Rock Bottom Ranch products, like eggs, pork and chicken, can be purchased at the ranch when available.
Rock Bottom Ranch is also the hub for ACES Science Classroom programming in the mid-valley, which features in-school science education and field programs for all Basalt and Crystal River Elementary School students.
Rock Bottom Ranch can be rented for private events, weddings, retreats, meetings and birthday parties.
